Acapella Remix Work

Create a four-to-the-floor kick pattern. Do not get fancy yet. Just loop a 16-bar section of the acapella (usually the hook) with a simple kick-snare pattern. Ask yourself: Does the vocal swing? Does it fall behind the beat or rush ahead?

Decide on the tempo for your remix. You can either keep the acapella at its original tempo or stretch it to fit a new groove. Most DAWs have a warp or stretch mode to do this; the "Complex Pro" algorithm is often recommended for stretching vocals cleanly without introducing unwanted artifacts [8†L22-L30].
