The move to an episodic road thriller required an enormous suspension of disbelief: complex conspiracies revealed and then immediately complicated, coincidences piled atop coincidences, and a plausibility budget that the show spent without keeping a receipt. Pacing became uneven—when the series hit stride, it was compulsively watchable; when it prowled through filler or improbable escapes, it verged on farce.
