The NetApp License File Generator is a self-service tool on the NetApp Support Site used to obtain NetApp License Files (NLFs) Download the license file to your local machine

Once you have downloaded your license files, you must apply them to your storage system using either the graphical user interface or the command-line interface. Method 1: Using ONTAP System Manager (GUI) Log into your ONTAP System Manager dashboard. Navigate to > Settings > Licenses . Click the Add (+) icon.
