Not all free presets are created equal. Many are made on older X32 firmware (pre-V3). If a preset sounds distorted or does nothing, the effect algorithm may have changed. Load the preset, then manually reset the output fader within that effect (usually the “Mix” or “Level” parameter) to 0dB and adjust from there.
