Sometimes the bottleneck isn't the DCOM, but your computer’s background settings.
| Problem | Solution | | :--- | :--- | | | This is a driver issue. Uninstall the current drivers via "Control Panel -> Programs & Features." Plug the device into a different USB port (preferably USB 2.0 rather than 3.0). Re-run the installer from the virtual CD-ROM drive. | | Very Slow Internet Speeds | The DCOM 35G is a 3.5G device. It will max out around 7.2 Mbps to 21 Mbps. To optimize, move the modem to a window or higher elevation to get better signal reception. You can also use a USB extension cable to move the modem away from the electromagnetic interference of the computer tower. | | Dropped Connection | Go back to the Movitel dashboard and check Power Saving Settings . Disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under the modem's power management options. | | APN Not Saving | Ensure you are running the Movitel dashboard as Administrator . Right-click the icon and select "Run as administrator" before trying to save the profile. |
: The easiest way to get the correct settings is to request them directly from Movitel. Send an SMS with the word CONFIG to the number 86135 .
Allow the auto-run feature to install the Movitel Dashboard or connection manager.
