Times 20new 20 — Roman Font Updated

Microsoft introduced Times New Roman as the core default font for Windows 3.1 .

Influenced by the robust and classic dimensions of the 16th-century Plantin typeface, Morison sought a design that was more economical with space yet highly legible on the coarse paper of newsprint. The new typeface made its official debut in the pages of The Times on October 3, 1932, replacing a slender 19th-century face with a more robust and solid structure. The name "Roman" refers to the standard upright style of the typeface, rooting it in the traditions of Italian printing, though the design itself has no direct connection to ancient Rome. times 20new 20 roman font
