The CS 2000 uses an outdated "single-stage" linear charger. It continuously pumps a fixed voltage (around 13.6V) into your battery. If left plugged in for weeks, it will boil the electrolyte out of your battery, ruining it. If you recently disconnected or changed your battery, you may have crossed the wires. Look for a main fuse (often 30A) labeled "Reverse Polarity." If it is blown, it disconnects the converter to protect the electronics.
