The iPod touch 5th generation occupies a unique space in Apple’s history. Released in 2012, it shipped with iOS 6—the last version of iOS to feature the famous “Skeuomorphic” design (realistic textures, leather stitching, and the iconic glossy icons). Over the years, Apple updated it to iOS 8.4.1, then eventually left it behind.
If you see error code 1015 during any restore attempt, it means iTunes has detected you're trying to install an older, unsigned IPSW. This is expected behavior when using standard recovery methods. The solution is to use one of the specialized tools (CoolBooter or Legacy-iOS-Kit) rather than iTunes directly.
You cannot restore a stock IPSW. You must create a custom IPSW that includes your saved SHSH blob.
