You can find the serial number on almost any Apple device through the software or on the hardware itself: Go to Settings > General > About . Mac: Click the Apple menu () > About This Mac .
Type or paste your unique serial number into the designated input field.
By using checkcoverage.apple.com , verifying Activation Lock on iCloud, and physically matching the number in Settings > About , you protect yourself from counterfeit goods, stolen inventory, and expensive out-of-warranty repairs. Spend three minutes on the check, or risk losing three hundred dollars on a brick.
For devices made before mid-2021 (iPhone 12 and earlier, Intel Macs, etc.), the 11–12 character serial number follows this structure (example: ):
